I hate to tell you but making carmelized onions in I hate to tell you but making carmelized onions in the slow cooker actually works

If your like me and love carmelized onions but don’t love waiting for them to cook for 45-60 minutes this is my new go to way! 

Literally put the onions in the slow cooker before bed and wake up to pure deliciousness. I also love to freeze in ice cube trays for meals later in the week/month

All you need is - I did a mix of onions but you can easily just use 1 type 

 6 large onions - peeled and thinly sliced ( red and sweet ) 
1 bay leaf 
1 tsp kosher salt 
3 tbsp olive oil 

Place all ingredients in the slow cooker and toss. Cook on low for 12 hours. Use in your favorite dishes and enjoy!

Swap your whole bird for the breast! If your nerv Swap your whole bird for the breast! 
If your nervous to cook a Whole turkey or having a small gathering the breast is my go too! Takes half the time and so easy to cook! 
Save this so you can impress all your guests on Thanksgiving!

All you need is a 3lb bone in breast and herb garlic butter 🧈 

1 stick  unsalted butter, room temperature 
2 garlic clove grated 
1 lemon zested 
1/2 tsp kosher salt and fresh cracked pepper 
1/4 cup fresh herbs ( I used parsley, sage  and thyme)

Fold all ingredients together with a spatula and transfer into a jar. Allow to chill for 1 hour. 

Heat oven 425’f and season turkey with salt and stuff butter under the skin and rub some on top! Then place in a baking dish and bake for 15 minutes then reduce temperature to 350’f for an additional 15-20 minutes or until internal temp reaches 155( I do it a little under so once it rests it reaches 165)

Nothing better than a homemade gift and Dukkah is so easy to make and so delicious! I recommend making a batch for yourself too I always have this in my fridge!

1/2 cup raw almonds
1/2 cup raw pistachio 
2 Tbs. whole coriander seeds
1 Tbs. whole cumin seeds @burrlapandbarrel
1 Tbs. whole fennel seeds
3/4 tsp. whole black peppercorns @burrlapandbarrel
2 Tbs. white sesame seeds. 
1 tsp sumac @burrlapandbarrel
½ tsp kosher salt

Heat a skillet over medium low and add nuts. Cook until toasted 3-4 minutes and add spices. Toast an additional 2-3 minutes. Let cool and then combine everything in a food processor. Pulse to desired consistency. Mix in sumac and salt. Store in an air tight container in the refrigerator.
